Glory of Team Rocket hasn't cooled off since it landed in Japan in April 2025. It's the Pokémon Card Game's first big Team Rocket-focused set in about twenty years, and the resale numbers show it: a BOX that retailed around 5,400 yen spiked to nearly 38,000 yen within days of launch, and even now, over a year later, it's still trading close to 25,800 yen — roughly five times retail.
The chase card driving a lot of that is Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex in its Special Art Rare finish, a Sakaki-and-Mewtwo illustration pulling at odds of roughly one per six boxes with no reprint announced. Between that scarcity and Mewtwo's pull well beyond Japan, singles prices reportedly turned upward again as recently as December 2025 instead of settling down.
That's the kind of demand that empties out direct retail stock fast — CDJapan's own listing for this BOX is marked sold out. It's still reachable through their Proxy Shopping Service, which sources it from Japan's resale market on request: expect a service fee on top of the item price, a non-cancellable order once placed, and a price that can shift before it ships. Not a casual impulse buy, but for a set still climbing a year on, it's a real way in.
