G-Shock's G-LIDE line, built for surfers who want tide graphs and moon data on their wrist, just got its biggest update in years. The GBX-H5600, released May 15, 2026, is the first G-LIDE with built-in heart-rate monitoring, adding running, gym, and interval-training modes on top of the surf features that have defined the line since it launched.

The line's relationship with the ocean isn't just marketing, either: G-LIDE's 10th collaboration with the nonprofit Surfrider Foundation Japan landed June 14, pairing the usual tide-graph display and smartphone-linked tidal data (roughly 3,300 locations worldwide) with biomass-plastic construction.
