Casio's most basic analog watches spent decades known dismissively as "cheap Casio." That's changed: European retailers started marketing the 1980s-era MQ-24 (launched 1987) and its era-mates as the "Casio Vintage Collection," and young buyers picked them up as retro fashion pieces rather than budget timepieces. The trend has since reverse-imported back to Japan and beyond.

Casio itself is leaning into it — the MQ-24 got a proper refresh in May 2026, with new MQ-24DA and MQ-24GA metal-band colorways adding a slim stainless steel bracelet to the classic dial.

This MQ-24M-1EJH is the line in its original resin-band form, still in the current catalog and, unlike a lot of what we've covered, actually in stock at CDJapan.
